		<description>PRINZ JEWELLERY
digital photography / retouched


For the jewellery designer Eric Prinz, I conceived a series of photographic compositions inspired by selected pieces.&#38;nbsp;Guided by intuition and a sense of play, I created miniature worlds in which his jewellery becomes the point of departure. Through the interplay of set design, digital photography, and meticulous post-production, these visual narratives came to life.

		<description>LUMINOUS PROCESS

I had the pleasure of photographing the work of the designer duo Helena Pinnel and Eric Prinz. In October 2024, they embarked on a residency at Vienna’s HAPPYLAB, where their project Luminous Process came to life. Rooted in AI tools, it weaves together technological expertise and artistic vision, unfolding into luminous objects of singular character.


In my photographs, I sought to let the objects merge seamlessly with the atmosphere of the chosen location, capturing their sculptural presence within space. At the same time, I aimed to reveal their materiality and the subtle possibilities of function inherent in each piece.

At the end of 2021, my dear friend Aram Ghadimi opened a new world to me: the Floridsdorf Sauna Bath.It is not simply a wellness facility, but a social institution with an ongoing history.
As the first bath built in the post-war era, its overall appearance is modest — “wrapped in elegant 1960s architecture: staggered volumes, tiles, glass…,” as Aram writes in his text Ausgebadet.


An upcoming, years-long renovation — and the temporary closure it entails — not only inspired his meticulously observed work, but also prompted me to take a closer look myself.
Instead of the original, unclothed, sweat-filled visits, I viewed this sauna space soberly, clothed, from a new perspective. Alone, in contrast to the otherwise bustling gatherings, I wanted to preserve and document this world that Aram had first led me into three years earlier. A world in which time seems paused (at least for a while).

During my studies in Prague I crossed the border between Austria &#38;amp; the Czech Republic almost weekly. While I travelled thousands of kilometres I had enough time to think about myself and my origin. 

As an Austrian citizen with Czechoslovakian roots, the demarcation of borders, in general, but especially between these countries, is for me a blurred and actually dissolved one. The excursion to this “foreign” country brought me a little closer to my genetical roots and to the questions about my identity. Consequently this is the first project, where I focus on myself, as the main character within a piece of&#38;nbsp; my artistic work.

In addition, my childhood illness on the left femur, which, according to some voices of that time, would curtail me in mobility, is also a present topic, due to the constant movement. 

These two experiences merge to the “mainstay” of this series, which has been steadily expanding since 2020. Through different photographs from my busrides, studio recordings of prosthetic support systems, road constructions between Vienna and Prague, pictures from the Austrian-Czech border, reappraisals of my past personality and the use of digital picture manipulation &#38;amp; generation, this conglomeration will be formed.

In cooperation with an orthopedic company, orthopedists and different writers and their texts, I want to create a piece of work, that visualizes my transition from a childhood, which was divided in cultural identities, separated by invisible demarcation lines and partially excluded by a not self-caused bone disease, to the person I am today.

This project was my final masters project at FAMU in Prague. It was developed and supervised in the intermediate studio of&#38;nbsp;Matthew Monteith.

Throughout my years as a volunteer in a NGO, taking care of asylum seekers, I got in touch with this family. 


In february of 2018, the family´s mother was deported back to her country of origin, Georgia. It was for an indefinite period, since the remaing part of the family did not lose their hope for a chance of staying in Austria. 


During this time I started visiting them weekly with the aim of creating pictures, together with the family, for the mother. It turned out to become a document, which demonstrates their resilience within this unstable situation. Hope and faith gave them power to overcome this uncertainty, up to a certain point.


The result is a project, that speaks for many families, being in this situation. Not knowing if they are ever going to be a full part of a certain community or being teared out of their habitat and being brought to an unkown place. (Especially children born in countries of refuge suffer from this act.)


Due to different reasons, as well as the fact that the whole family left Austria in the middle of 2019, I decided to rename this project from its original name (georgian: ”mama”) after my studies. 


Hope dies last, at least for many other people who find themselves in this situation.

Memory Palace is a collaborative project focussing on the creative process. Together with a group of international students from various artistic fields, the scotish art-collective, Captain Lightfoot, explore methods which allow to create works that are devoid of critical thought and are more free and intuitive. The resulting homonymous exhibition was shown at GAMU in October 2018.


At the core of the Memory Palace project lie questions about the source, forms and limits of human creativity, and – first and foremost – a quest to experiment with the creative processes.

This project was my final project in Jiri Thyns Post - Conceptual Photography Class during the summer semester 2018.


At the beginning of the semster I intuitionally have created objects out of stones and technical trash, that I have found on the streets of Prague. These objects didn´t just become a statement for my critical point of nowadays overusage/ wrong usage of technology, but they became part of a bigger project in different subjects.&#38;nbsp;

At the beginning I photographed the objects. From there I created illustrations, which worked as sketches for the final results. Combined with real photographs, the illustrations became a poster design for Jan Brozs graphic class.


From sculpture to poster illustrations to inscribed gypsum plates, in the end it turned out to be a cooperation with the media-theorist and philosopher Katerina Krtilova, who supported my visuality with her theoretical knowledge and words.
