This project oscillates between documentary photography and conceptual exploration. It is based on analogue black-and-white photographs taken during a backpacking trip through Ghana in 2024.
Inspired by the portrait of a tailor and Ghana’s role as an importer of second-hand Western textiles, the photographs are extended and recontextualized through the use of textiles and other materials. This creates hybrid visual realities that move between documentation and construction.
While some works expand beyond the photographic frame into three-dimensional objects, a series of portraits focuses on individuals living within these global structures.
By bringing together documented and constructed elements, the project opens new perspectives on global interconnectedness.
